Takes over on offense in win

LaVine (knee) amassed a game-high 35 points (11-21 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 8-10 FT) and three rebounds in 34 minutes during Monday's 112-99 victory over the Clippers.

Analysis

The Bulls were a bit shorthanded Monday, as the team was without Coby White (ankle) and Ayo Dosunmu (calf), but LaVine was able to play through a knee injury and pick up the slack in the form of a game-high 35 points. LaVine was also particularly aggressive attacking the basket, attempting a season-high 10 free throws, although it was just his second game of the season without tallying an assist. Fantasy managers should look for the star swingman to play a similar role if White remains out for Thursday's game against the Warriors.

Getting green light

LaVine (knee) will play Monday against the Clippers.

Analysis

LaVine was added to the team's injury report as probable, so his availability is no great surprise. He's been putting together a strong month, averaging 28.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.3 steals over 10 appearances.

January 20, 2025

Listed probable for Monday

LaVine (knee) is probable for Monday's game against the Clippers.

Analysis

LaVine continues to manage tendonitis in his right knee, but the Bulls are planning on him playing the second leg of this back-to-back for now. He logged a whopping 39 minutes Sunday against Portland, finishing with 27 points, five assists, four rebounds, one block, two steals and two triples.

Fills stat sheet Sunday

LaVine totaled 27 points (10-21 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 39 minutes during Sunday's 113-102 loss to Portland.

Analysis

The Bulls suffered a surprising defeat Sunday, but LaVine still posted a solid stat line, as the veteran continues to play at an extremely high level with the Feb. 6 trade deadline only a few weeks away. LaVine has scored at least 25 points in eight of his 10 appearances this month, averaging 28.6 points per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor.

January 20, 2025

Available Sunday

LaVine (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Analysis

LaVine was deemed probable, so his availability Sunday isn't entirely surprising. He should handle a heavy workload on offense and will aim to maintain his solid stretch of play. He's averaging 28.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game since the beginning of January.

January 18, 2025

Expected to play Sunday

LaVine is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Trail Blazers due to right patella tendon tendinitis.

Analysis

LaVine hasn't missed a game since Dec. 30 and isn't expected to do so Sunday despite dealing with a knee issue. In each of the star forward's nine appearances since the beginning of 2025, he has logged at least 31 minutes.

Posts diverse line in loss

LaVine chipped in 19 points (7-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 125-123 loss to the Hornets.

Analysis

LaVine finished as the team's second-highest scorer behind Nikola Vucevic in the loss, but his 19 points were slightly below his season average of 23.6 points. While he isn't posting career numbers, LaVine's mostly good health this season is encouraging considering his injury-riddled 2023-24 campaign, when he was limited to only 23 games. The veteran's scoring totals have jumped slightly, and LaVine is converting 51.4 percent of his shots through 37 games.

January 18, 2025

Upgraded to available

LaVine (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Hornets.

Analysis

LaVine was a late addition to Chicago's previous report with a questionable tag, but he'll give it a go despite being under the weather. He's been hot in January with averages of 30.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.0 three-pointers over his last eight games.

January 17, 2025

Iffy due to illness

LaVine (illness) is questionable for Friday's game versus Charlotte.

Analysis

LaVine was a very late addition to the injury report, and fantasy managers will want to monitor this situation closely. If LaVine is ultimately held out, guys like Josh Giddey, Ayo Dosunmu, Lonzo Ball and Coby White would likely see an uptick in usage.

January 15, 2025

Leading scorer in Tuesday's loss

LaVine amassed a team-high 25 points (10-22 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Tuesday's 119-113 loss to the Pelicans.

Analysis

The veteran wing saw his streak of games with at least 30 points end at six, but LaVine still delivered a strong performance. He's drained multiple three-pointers in all seven of those contests, averaging 32.1 points, 5.9 boards, 4.9 assists, 3.3 threes and 1.0 steals during that blistering stretch while shooting 56.2 percent from the floor and 48.9 percent from beyond the arc. LaVine is doing everything he can to boost his trade value as he gets shopped around once again by the 18-22 Bulls.
