Records double-double

Kuzma finished Wednesday's 103-101 win over the Timberwolves with 19 points (7-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 39 minutes.

Analysis

The Bucks were without their two best players, Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (hamstring), so Kuzma had to embrace a more prominent role on offense, and he thrived in such a position. Kuzma has played four games with the Bucks since being traded from the Wizards before the deadline, and he's averaging 16.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.5 steals per game in that span.

Finds rhythm in Monday's loss

Kuzma finished with 21 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-13 FT) and six rebounds in 34 minutes during Monday's 125-111 loss to Golden State.

Analysis

The 29-year-old forward put together his best performance yet since joining Milwaukee, doing much of his damage from the charity stripe -- Kuzma went just 3-for-4 from the free-throw line in his first two games for the Bucks combined. He's started the last two contests while Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) has been on the shelf, and it's not clear yet whether Kuzma will remain in the starting five once the team's superstar is healthy, or if he'll be used to bolster the second unit instead.

Shooting woes in start

Kuzma closed Sunday's 135-127 victory over the 76ers with 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes.

Analysis

The 29-year-old received the starting nod for the first time with his new team, as Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) was sidelined for a fourth consecutive contest. Kuzma struggled from three-point range in the victory, and in two outings with the Bucks, he has shot only 4-for-14 from beyond the arc. Over that two-game span, the eighth-year pro has amassed 25 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal across 60 total minutes.

Making first start with new team

Kuzma will start Sunday's game against the 76ers.

Analysis

Kuzma made his Bucks debut Friday against the Hawks, posting 12 points, seven rebounds and an assist in 24 minutes off the bench. However, with Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) still sidelined, Kuzma will supplant Bobby Portis as Milwaukee's starting power forward Sunday. Across 23 starts with the Wizards, Kuzma averaged 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 28.1 minutes per game.

Will make Milwaukee debut Friday

Kuzma will officially make his Bucks debut Friday against the Hawks, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.

Analysis

Kuzma was shipped to the Bucks in a deal involving Khris Middleton being dealt to the Wizards prior to Thursday's NBA trade deadline. The one-time NBA champion will suit up for the first time Friday for Milwaukee in Atlanta. He's averaging 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season, shooting career-low percentages from the field (42) and beyond the arc (28.1).

February 7, 2025

Iffy to debut Friday

Kuzma (recently traded) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Hawks.

Analysis

The 29-year-old is questionable to make his Bucks debut after having been included in the trade that sent Khris Middleton (not injury related) to the Wizards on Wednesday. Kuzma appeared in 32 regular-season outings for Washington, averaging 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 three-pointers, shooting a career-low 42.0 percent from the field in 27.7 minutes per contest.
