Analysis
Towns finished just two points away from reaching his season-high mark, but this was his fifth outing with at least 40 points this season. The star big man continues to enjoy a stellar season in his first year with New York, and he heads into the All-Star break with excellent averages of 25.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game since the beginning of February.

Analysis
After failing to score double-digit points for the first time this season in New York's most recent outing, Towns dropped his fourth game of the season with at least 40 points against Indiana. The 29-year-old big man was able to take advantage of Myles Turner's (neck) absence, which left the Pacers without an elite rim protector. Towns' 13.5 rebounds per contest rank second in the NBA behind only Domantas Sabonis (14.3).

Towns delivered a lackluster outing in the blowout loss, recording a season-worst nine points while putting up only eight shots. The All-Star big man has seen a decline in production of late, and over his last five outings, he has averaged 16.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting just 43.7 percent from the field in 34.0 minutes per contest.

Analysis
Towns was in danger of missing this game against the defending NBA champions after being downgraded to questionable earlier in the day with the knee issue. However, he was surprisingly cleared ahead of the game Saturday, giving the Knicks a better chance of getting the best of the Celtics at Madison Square Garden. The star big man is averaging a career-high 13.6 rebounds per game this season to go along with 24.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting a career-high 42.3 percent from deep for New York.
