Analysis
The 26-year-old tied Trey Murphy as the second-leading scorer behind CJ McCollum (43 points) in the overtime victory. Alvarado also tied the game-high mark in steals, logging his 11th outing with multiple steals through 31 regular-season appearances. The fourth-year guard has started in four consecutive contests, averaging 12.5 points, 6.5 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals across 29.5 minutes per game.

Flirts with double-double in loss
Alvarado notched 18 points (7-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 119-111 loss to the Kings.
Analysis
Alvarado fell one assist short of his first double-double of the season, turning in a strong two-way performance. He continues to play a sizeable role for the banged-up Pelicans, starting the past three games. Although his minutes are somewhat inconsistent, it appears as though he is going to feature prominently down the stretch.

Struggles in second straight start
Alvarado accumulated nine points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt) in 23 minutes during Monday's 137-101 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis
Alvarado has been thrust into a new role with the Pelicans due to Dejounte Murray's (Achilles) season-ending injury and with CJ McCollum out for personal reasons. As the starter for New Orleans, the 26-year-old point guard has not played well, especially when it comes to his outside shooting, going a combined 2-for-10 from beyond the arc in consecutive losses to the Kings and Thunder.
