Strong defensive showing Monday

Jackson recorded 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals over 30 minutes during Monday's 120-118 loss to Houston.

Analysis

The 25-year-old forward failed to score more than 20 points for the first time in January and tied his season low in rebounds, but Jackson still contributed with his defense. Over his last 10 games, he's averaging 26.2 points, 7.7 boards, 3.7 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 threes.

Explodes for 33 points in win

Jackson recorded 33 points (13-24 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes during Saturday's 127-125 win over Minnesota.

Analysis

Though Ja Morant provided the biggest highlight by hitting the game-winning shot in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies wouldn't have secured the victory had it not been for Jackson's offensive contributions. He did more than just score, though, as Jackson also finished just two boards shy of a double-double. Jackson's value is coming from his offensive numbers of late. He's scored at least 20 points in each of his last six outings while surpassing the 30-point mark three times in that span.

Season-high six blocks vs. Houston

Jackson closed with 21 points (9-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, six blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Thursday's 119-115 loss to the Rockets.

Analysis

Jackson was able to play through a sore left thigh Thursday and finished as the Grizzlies' second-leading scorer behind Ja Morant (27). Jackson was dominant on the defensive side of the floor, logging a season-high six blocks for the 11th time in his NBA career. Since Dec. 1, Jackson has averaged 23.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.7 steals over 29.9 minutes per game.

Gets green light Thursday

Jackson (thigh) is available for Thursday's game against Houston.

Analysis

Jackson was initially deemed questionable due to left thigh soreness, though he will give it a go Thursday. The big man hasn't missed a matchup since Oct. 25, and over his last 10 appearances, he has averaged 24.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.8assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks across 30.9 minutes per contest.

Uncertain to play Thursday

Jackson (thigh) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets.

Analysis

Jackson is dealing with thigh soreness that could keep him out of action Thursday, and it would be his first missed game since Oct. 25 if he sits out. With Santi Aldama (ankle) also uncertain to play, Jake LaRavia, Brandon Clarke and Jay Huff would be candidates to take Jackson's place in Memphis' starting lineup against the Rockets if the star big man can't play.
