Good to go Tuesday

Allen (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis

Allen sustained the left knee injury during Sunday's win over the Hornets, though he'll suit up without missing a single game Tuesday. Over his last five outings, the 29-year-old has averaged 13.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 assists across 21.8 minutes per contest.

Likely to play Tuesday vs. Hawks

Allen (knee) is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

Analysis

Allen didn't return to Sunday's 120-113 win over the Hornets after injuring his left knee in the second quarter, and he finished the game with 13 points, one rebound and two steals over 13 minutes. The injury doesn't appear to be severe, and he should be able to play in Tuesday's interconference battle. Allen is averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals over 23.8 minutes per game this season.

Won't return Sunday

Allen is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Hornets due to left knee soreness, Amanda Pflugrad of 3TV Phoenix reports.

Analysis

Allen injured his knee in the second quarter and was ruled out at the beginning of the second half. Allen was playing well off the bench before exiting with injury, logging 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two steals and one rebound in 13 minutes of action. His status for Tuesday's game in Atlanta is now in question.

Stays hot from deep in win

Allen finished with 14 points (5-11 FG, 4-10 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-106 victory over the Jazz.

Analysis

Allen continued his hot streak from three-point land Saturday, providing a lift off Phoenix's bench with four threes and two steals. The 29-year-old veteran swingman is shooting a sizzling 53.3 percent from deep across his past five outings, a stretch during which he's averaging 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 3.2 threes in 25.5 minutes. If Royce O'Neale (ankle) remains on the shelf for Sunday's tilt against Charlotte, Allen should continue to have some more responsibility on his plate.

January 10, 2025

Logs 23 points in reserve role

Allen finished with 23 points (7-8 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes during Thursday's 123-115 win over the Hawks.

Analysis

Allen enjoyed an accurate night, converting all but one of his eight shot attempts in the win. He's adjusting well to his second-unit role after appearing in the starting five for a majority of his appearances last season. His numbers have taken a hit as a result, but he develops a solid line when he gets at least 25 minutes of court time.
