Sitting vs. Dallas

Adebayo (knee) is out for Thursday's game against the Mavericks, Eddie Sefko of the Mavericks' official site reports.

Analysis

Adebayo was added to the injury report earlier in the day due to a bruised left knee and has since been downgraded to out. Nikola Jovic (knee) and Kyle Anderson are candidates to start in his place.

Iffy against Dallas

Adebayo is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Mavericks due to a left knee contusion.

Analysis

Adebayo is in danger of missing his first game since Jan. 13 due to a left knee contusion. If the star big man is forced to sit out against Dallas, Nikola Jovic, Kyle Anderson and Haywood Highsmith are all candidates to receive increased playing time.

Posts another double-double

Adebayo ended Wednesday's 115-101 loss to the Thunder with 27 points (11-19 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes.

Analysis

Adebayo had another impressive two-way display Wednesday and recorded his seventh double-double across his last 10 appearances. The star big man is averaging 21.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over that 10-game stretch, and he figures to remain one of Miami's most reliable offensive weapons, especially now that Jimmy Butler is no longer part of the roster.

Gets little help in loss

Adebayo ended Monday's 103-85 loss to the Celtics with a team-high 22 points (6-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds and four assists across 34 minutes.

Analysis

No other Heat player scored more than 13 points as the team as a whole was held to 33.7 percent shooting on the night. The double-double was Adebayo's 28th of the season, with seven of them coming in the last 10 games -- a stretch in which the 27-year-old big is averaging 19.8 points, 11.2 boards, 4.1 assists and 0.9 threes while shooting 52.0 percent from the floor. Miami has yet to feature its new lineup, as Tyler Herro (illness) sat out Monday while Andrew Wiggins made his Heat debut, so it's not clear yet what Adebayo's usage might look like once the team is at full strength.

Productive in Friday's loss

Adebayo closed with 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 37 minutes during Friday's 102-86 loss to Brooklyn.

Analysis

The 27-year-old big has been incredibly consistent on the glass over the last few weeks. Adebayo hasn't pulled down fewer than eight rebounds in 11 straight games, a stretch in which he's averaged 18.0 points, 11.1 boards and 4.2 assists while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor. With Jimmy Butler now a Warrior, Adebayo and his frontcourt mate Kel'el Ware figure to become the focal point of the Heat offense, along with Tyler Herro.
