Double-double despite early exit

Sengun amassed 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 loss to the Warriors.

Analysis

While the fourth-year center did contribute his 32nd double-double of the season, Sengun was one of the Rocket starters benched by coach Ime Udoka for the entire fourth quarter in an effort to generate a comeback from a 12-point deficit. Not counting a Feb. 9 game in which he played only three minutes due to back trouble, Sengun heads into the All-Star break averaging 19.4 points, 12.8 boards, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals over his last five contests.

Double-doubles in win

Sengun amassed 17 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 119-111 win over Phoenix.

Analysis

Sengun left Sunday's win over the Raptors early due to a lumbar spasm, though he returned to game action against Phoenix on Wednesday and posted a game-high 13 rebounds. Additionally, the All-Star center logged his 31st outing with a double-double or better through 51 regular-season games. Over his last five appearances with double-digit playing time, Sengun has averaged 21.0 points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.0 steals across 34.6 minutes per contest.

Cleared to play

Sengun (back) is active and starting Wednesday against the Suns, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.

Analysis

Sengun was forced to leave Sunday's game against Toronto due to back spasms and was listed as questionable for Wednesday's game. However, he's been given the green light to face Phoenix.

Iffy for Wednesday

Sengun (back) is making progress, but he remains questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.

Analysis

Sengun wasn't able to return to Sunday's 94-87 win over the Raptors due to a lumbar spasm and finished with zero points (0-3 FG) and three rebounds in three minutes. It sounds like he'll be a game-time call Wednesday, but if he's unable to go, Jeff Green, Jock Landale and Steven Adams could see increased roles.

Leaves early Sunday

Sengun didn't return to Sunday's 94-87 win over the Raptors due to a lumbar spasm and finished with zero points (0-3 FG) and three rebounds in three minutes.

Analysis

The star big man checked out of the game with 8:44 remaining in the first quarter, paving the way for Jeff Green and Jock Landale to see extended run in the loss. Sengun will have until Wednesday's game against the Suns to recover. If Sengun is unable to play, Steven Adams (ankle) -- who sat out Sunday for maintenance purposes -- will likely receive the starting nod at center.

Unlikely to return Sunday

Sengun is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Raptors due to a lumbar spasm, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis

If he's unable to return, Sengun will finish with zero points (0-3 FG) and three rebounds in three minutes. Jeff Green replaced Sengun when the big man went to the locker room, but Jock Landale is also a candidate for increased minutes for the remainder of the game. The Rockets were already thin in the frontcourt, as Steven Adams (lower leg), Tari Eason (ankle) and Jabari Smith (hand) are all in street clothes Sunday.

Heads to locker room vs. Toronto

Sengun exited in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Raptors after sustaining an apparent back injury, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.

Analysis

Sengun checked out of Sunday's contest after grabbing at his back just minutes after tipoff. If the big man is unable to return, Jock Landale and Jeff Green could fill most of the minutes at center for the rest of the contest.

Drops 30 points against Dallas

Sengun registered 30 points (11-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-10 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block over 38 minutes during Saturday's 116-105 loss to Dallas.

Analysis

Sengun was limited to just five points in the first half of Saturday's game, but he came alive in the second half with 25 points as the Rockets attempted to make a late comeback. Sengun finished as the game's leading scorer, and it was the first time since Jan. 9 that he had scored 30 points. The Rockets will look to break out of their six-game losing streak Sunday against the Raptors.
