This pack gives you a balanced roster to begin your Sorare MLB journey. Don’t worry if you don’t recognize all the players right away – that’s part of the fun!
Please Note: Common Cards are not tradeable peer-to-peer.
Navigating the Common Market
Not completely satisfied with your initial squad? The Common Market is your gateway to finding the players you need! This dedicated Marketplace, designed with a familiar interface to the main Sorare Marketplace, allows you to scout for specific players using detailed filters, such as player stats, team, and position. Think of it like your own personal baseball scouting tool!
The Power of Common Essence
So, how do you acquire these new players in the Common Market? That’s where Common Essence comes in. Common Essence is the currency of the Common Market, and you earn it by dropping unwanted Common Cards from your collection. Think of it in this cycle:
➜ Drop: Identify Common Cards in your collection that you don’t need or want.
➜ Earn Essence: Drop these cards in the Common Market to receive Common Essence.
➜ Scout & Add: Use your accumulated Common Essence to acquire new players who fit your strategy.
This system ensures a constant flow of cards and Essence within the Common ecosystem, allowing you to continually refine your team.
Common Essence can also be won in competitions.
How Common Essence Works: A Market-Driven Valuation
- Market-Driven Valuation: Common Card values are directly tied to the market value of Limited Cards. This means that how much Essence a Common Card is worth is determined by the actual market demand for their Limited Card, offering a more realistic and transparent valuation system.
- Real-Time Updates: Common Card prices are continuously updated based on the latest Limited Card prices. This ensures that Common Essence remains dynamic and responsive to market changes.
- Scaled Pricing Mechanism: The highest-priced player in the Limited market serves as the benchmark, with their Common Essence cost set at 1,000. Every other player’s Essence cost is calculated as a ratio of their Limited Card price compared to the most expensive player.
Example:
If Shohei Ohtani’s Limited Card is the most expensive at $300, his common card is at 1000 Common Essence. If Ronald Acuna Jr’s Limited card is priced at $150, the cost of his Common Card would be 500 Common Essence, reflecting his card’s market value relative to Ohtani’s.
Setting Your Lineups: Daily and Bi-Weekly Competitions
Now that you have your team, it’s time to put them to work! Sorare MLB offers both Daily and Bi-Weekly Common competitions, giving you multiple chances to compete and earn rewards.
- Daily Competitions: Test your baseball knowledge and set lineups for daily slates of games.
- Biweekly Competitions: Showcase your long-term strategy and compete every Monday and Friday in the Minors competition!
By actively participating in these competitions, you’ll gain valuable experience, learn about different players, and earn rewards that can further enhance your Common Card collection.
Common Collections: Building Your Digital Gallery
Beyond just competing, Common Cards also contribute to your overall Collection Score. This is where you can express your love for the game and build a unique digital gallery.
How Common Collections Work
Cards are scored based on four criteria:
- Owned (10 points): Earn points simply for owning a card in your collection.
- Owned for 7 Days (20 points): Earn points if the card has been in your collection for at least 7 days and has not been swapped out during that time.
- New Card (10 points): Earn points for adding a card to your collection that you’ve never owned before. This includes cards you’ve never added, dropped, or been rewarded with in the past.
- Rookie Card (20 points): Earn points for adding Rookie Cards to your collection!
Each milestone unlocks XP bonuses or a Team Badge, unlocking a deeper level of fandom for all of your favorite teams!
